MTF Festival, Mestsky Park, Ziar nad Hronom, Slovakia - 2010-08-13
MTF Festival, Amfiteater, Kosice, Slovakia - 2010-08-14

Michael Kiske about UNISONIC: The new album will be release deffinatelly this year! More likelly the second half of this year. Maybe an EP before the summer.

I will also play guitar and might do some of keyboards with my guitar too (there are effect units for that). But I am sure sooner or later we will also have a hired keyboard-player on tour with us.

We will play songs from PLACE VENDOME, UNISONIC and probably two of my older songs I re-recorded on "Past In Different Ways" album. I guess "Kids Of The Century" and maybe "A Little Time". Especially PLACE VENDOME deserves some live playing.

Questions & Answers

Questions & Answers
Michael Kiske answered more questions in the section: Q & A (Questions & Answers), now in the Fanclub section, and also published answers are in the same place of the forum.

About UNISONIC:

Michael Kiske: The new album will be release deffinatelly this year! More likelly the second half of this year. Maybe an EP before the summer. We want this to be a killer, as you can imagine.

I will also play guitar and might do some of keyboards with my guitar too (there are effect units for that). But I am sure sooner or later we will also have a hired keyboard-player on tour with us.

About chest voice/head voice:

Michael Kiske: I honestly think the trick is NOT to think about it too much. I actually don't do anything to make the voice sound like anything else. I simply sound like this when I sing higher. I am in control of course, but I don't think about it much while I'm singing. And I don't think about chest or head-voice either. IF I do think, then I always think: "controlled chestvoice".

It's important not the sing (and think) in two modes like many do. I never really switch between two modes … (in my mind). Of course those very high screams are head-voice, but I do get quite high (these days) with my (controlled) chest-voice, because I don't think about it much.

New Interview with Michael Kiske (UNISONIC's vocalist)

15 January, 2010

Polls

After a few months since the formation of the new band UNISONIC with Dennis Ward - bassist, Mandy Meyer - guitarist, Kosta Zafiriou - drummer, Michael Kiske is full of work. Not only being a part of a new band which is composing its debut album, he is also involved in another collaborations. He's appearing on the next GAMMA RAY's album To The Metal singing the chorus of "All You Need To Know", singing the bonus track "The Ethereal Dream" by TOMORROW'S OUTLOOK, on the new AVANTASIA albums, and the duet-album for KISKE/SOMERVILLE.

Michael took a break from his work to answer a short interview of questions made by the fans taken from Questions & Answers section. A few excerpts from the first interview with Michael are:

Michael Kiske: UNISONIC won't be just a mix of PLACE VENDOME and KISKE. You will certainly recognize the musicians. Dennis will always be Dennis. The same goes for me and Mandy etc. A bit of Place Vendome you will also here, just less eighties like produced, but we are working on our own fresh sound. UNISONIC will have more colours and less limitations.

Michael Kiske: We will play songs from PLACE VENDOME, UNISONIC and probably two of my older songs I re-recorded on "Past In Different Ways" album. I guess "Kids Of The Century" and maybe "A Little Time". Especially PLACE VENDOME deserves some live playing. But it will only be songs we have written.

Michael Kiske about the new collaboration with GAMMA RAY: I simply like Kai Hansen's personality. As we say here in Germany: He will always have a "Stone in my heart". I connect the best HELLOWEEN years with him. When he asked me to sing a Song-Chorus and I heard the song, I liked some other songs on his album a bit more, but he wanted me to do that one. It's all typical Kai Hansen. Energetic, played with fun, and not negative at all.

Michael Kiske about the new project KISKE/SOMERVILLE: Amanda Somerville is so good, that I very often thought, she should really sing it all... I wouldn't mind to step down and give her MUCH more parts to sing... Love her voice! I have no doubts that this will be a killer-album especially because of her.

Mandy statement about Unisonic

03 December, 2009

Mandy Meyer
After the statement from Kosta Zafiriou, the drummer of UNISONIC, we wanted to get the opinion about the band from guitarist Mandy Meyer.

Mandy Meyer's career is long and successful. He began as the guitarist of COBRA on the albums First Strike (1983), ASIA on Astra (1985), Aurora (1986), and four "Best of" albums. He also worked on a few projects like ASHTON, HOUSE OF LORDS, and KATMANDÜ. Then he joined GOTTHARD where he appeared on four studio albums and finally KROKUS where he worked with UNISONIC'S bassist Dennis Ward.

First off, the clarification and beginning was, that I knew Dennis Ward, who produced the last album I played on. He suggested me as a guitar player for this band. I also worked together with Jan Bayati who’s managing us, while my years in Gotthard. I always thought, that Bottom Row did a very efficient job and wouldn’t get engaged with something that has no future in the music business. This is a very important fact, which is kind of comforting to know, that they probably will get the best results out of a product and I don’t have to feel like a guinea pig.

I do love the unique voice of Michael, who is going to give our music a very special approach. Also the fact, that Dennis and Kosta are fantastic players and played music together for many years, will give this sound a very intense drive and enormous dynamics. And of course, it’s be very much beneficial, to have Dennis in the band, who is a fantastic record producer and musician.

We’re working on our music at this moment and hopefully get to a record production in the next few month.

I’m really looking forward to UNISONIC and will be ready to perform exciting, powerful and creative music together with my new band buddies!
