Hystory behind

Since his departure from Helloween in late 1993, Kiske participated in various projects and released several solo albums. In the project Place Vendome four years ago he not only recorded with Ward and Zafiriou, he found two musical soul mates as well. After the sequel album of Place Vendome, the trio decided to join forces for a new band. Dennis Ward, who had previously produced a record for Krokus, suggested Mandy Meyer as the perfect addition for the vacant job on the guitar.

Michael Kiske: I was generally getting a bit tired of doing everything on my own for so many years, so it just felt like the right thing to do now. We can all only benefit from working together. And a real band is also a very good reason to finally go on tour again - after 17 years I can´t wait to get back on stage and have some fun with the band and the fans!

Kosta Zafiriou commented: Since the first Place Vendome album, Michael and I (as well as Michael and Dennis) have been in loose contact with each other. We found out that we have a lot in common in regards of musical taste, which led after the second Place Vendome album to the idea of creating a band together. The vision is to have a band consisting of grown up and experienced musicians with musical skills and feeling, creating great music that is not labeled or pushed in one direction from the beginning on: No matter if it's Poprock, AOR, a Ballad or Hardrock: It has to be a great song, then we'll play it! My wish is that people will accept and appreciate our intention of just making honest rock music!

Mandy Meyer commented: Dennis suggested me as a guitar player for this band... I do love the unique voice of Michael, who is going to give our music a very special approach. Also the fact, that Dennis and Kosta are fantastic players and played music together for many years, will give this sound a very intense drive and enormous dynamics. We’re working on our music at this moment and hopefully get to a record production in the next few month.

Kiske comments

Michael Kiske commented about the sound: It won't be just a mix of PLACE VENDOME and KISKE. You will certainly recognize the musicians. Dennis will always be Dennis. The same goes for me and Mandy etc. A bit of Place Vendome you will also here, just less eighties like produced, but we are working on our own fresh sound. UNISONIC will have more colours and less limitations.

Michael Kiske commented about set-list: We will play songs from PLACE VENDOME, UNISONIC and probably two of my older songs I re-recorded on "Past In Different Ways" album. I guess "Kids Of The Century" and maybe "A Little Time". But it will only be songs we have written.

Michael Kiske commented about Keyboardist: I will also play guitar and might do some of keyboards with my guitar too (there are effect units for that). But I am sure sooner or later we will also have a hired keyboard-player on tour with us.

Rumours

Designer of new album cover and band logo would be Carl-André Beckston (designer of Place Vendome and Kiske last albums).

It's possible but not confirmed yet.
